About CoREM

What is CoREM?

CoREM is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving Leadership and Management at every level.

Our mission has three thrusts:

#1 Personal Improvement

We are keenly interested in life-long learning and personal mastery, and committed to continual development of our professional and personal lives.

#2 Organizational Improvement

We work with businesses, schools and local governments to promote a deeper understanding of Leadership principles and practices.

#3 Global Improvement

We are committed to the growth of the economy and quality of life through the exercise of effective leadership principles and practices at every level from regional to international.

History of CoREM

We started in 1991 as the Westmoreland County Deming Study Group of Western PA, focusing on the principles espoused by the great management and quality thinker Dr. W. Edwards Deming. By 1998 it became clear that our title and stated focus should change to reflect our broadening areas of interest. Accordingly, we changed our name to the Council on Realizing Excellence in Management (i.e., CoREM), formed a board of directors, and incorporated as a nonprofit organization under article 501(c)3.

Since 1991, we've held monthly presentations and workshops on a great variety of cutting-edge topics related to enlightened leadership.
